Sinner Breaks Djokovic’s Masters Record with 25th Straight Win

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner advanced to the fourth round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome on Saturday, defeating Australia’s Alexei Popyrin (world No. 60) 6-2, 6-0.

With the victory, the 24-year-old Italian became the first player to win 25 consecutive matches across the first five Masters events of a calendar year. Earlier this season, Sinner claimed titles in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, and Madrid. Novak Djokovic previously held the streak at 24 wins in 2011 and 2015.

Overall, Sinner has now won 30 consecutive Masters matches, just one shy of Djokovic’s all-time record of 31. The Italian also owns an unprecedented five straight Masters titles, including the 2025 Paris Masters.

In the round of 16, Sinner will face fellow Italian Andrea Pellegrino, ranked 155th in the world.
